Let Them See You Read

Father's Day is not just a time for kids and moms to pamper the Dads in the family. It's really a day to reflect on what a father is and should be.

First and foremost we need to remember we are an example to our kids whether we are meaning to or not. Kids learn early by mimicking the adults in their lives. Parents who read typically have kids who read. Even better, though, is reading with kids. They will associate that attention you give them with the act of reading. Because they feel important in that activity, they will be drawn to do it themselves.
