The film and music industries chose to resist and to fight changes in their market rather than looking at it as an opportunity to reach its audience in a new medium.
No matter how much we love the feel of a book in our hands, digital publishing and distribution will continue to grow in share as part of our industry. It's we as creators of content who have to embrace these changes or get left behind.
This was the primary message to attendees of Once Upon a Tablet: Chidren's Books in a Digital Age, a symposium hosted by the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators.
